Californization , The Lakers and The Earthquake

Back in the days, when I was a kid , if the earthquake strike, people panic , grab quickly their most prized posesions and kids and cats and rushed on the street almost trampling each other in hurry to be the first out of the building, before it collapse and earth swallow us all  whole!!! And then for years to come everybody will reminiscent where were they at the Earthquake moment and make up stories and stuff…My , my how the times (O.k. and the continents ents) have changed…
Last night , while laying in bed with our laptops ( don’t judge) computing and stuff I felt some shaky-acky-breaky  movement and asked my husband if he is tapping with his feet , so the bed vibrates. His cool , calm and collected response was: ,,No, it’s just another earthquake,, and he continued his music composing activity…So did I , reassured that it’s nothing to worry about, since it’s our second quake, since we came here!! And yes , you can say our Californization is now complete…

We moved to Southern Cali ( Santa Clarita) and we are loving it…Quakes and all..

That red thingie  looks like a giant centipede-space ship-sewer pipe-industrial monster…I don’t know what it is , but posing with anonymous objects is always fun…

Especially when they match my outfit…And no this is not my car. I just love how the color matches my Lakers outfit…

My New York fashion week gold and mermaid/petrolium peacock outfit

I wish! Just kidding,since I need something to cheer me up.I have a bad case of sewing- machine- attachment withdrawals.Due to it’s 220 V uncompatible-ness in US, I had to let this dear friend go,before me moved to Cali.So this outfit was in a way,it’s Swan song , before I heartlessly sold it to a stranger and  took cold hard cash (half price ) for it.I know.Harsh and heartless.It served me right all these years.And not a day went by without me using it(and cussing at it). I miss sewing soo much.But time will come…

As for time gone by, here is a blast form the past…

Velvet jacket-vintage.Originally I bought it as a long,heavy trench coat,but gave it the signature Easybreazy treatment-chop,crop,sew,re-sew and pimp,pimp,pimp it with a gold ornaments.The label on the jacket says made in West Germany, so it’s practically a piece of history (a real blast from the cold-war-era past), when Germany was divided by 2 parts-East and West Germany. And then there is The quality on that thing. UN-BE-LI-AVABLE! It really hurt when I had to defame it and cut all that heavy velvet with silk lining and perfect stitches…Whew!

The back side of the formerly trench coat became a ”mermaid tail” with lace.Or smocking jacket.Or something.

To complete the mermaid vibe,I added a petroleum sequinced collar to a black T with a slit in front.Petroleum bag-H&M.Vintage Ray Ban.Peacock hair piece.
Aand that was the” Gold-for-the-NY-cold-What-would-Easybreazy-wear” at NY fashion week look , haven I’ve been invited.
I play that game sometimes.Watching street photos from the Fashion week and think of the perfect,weather appropriate outfit.Dreaming…

Pink bling-thing in the city or I was born this way

Of Glendale…
Or what not to wear at a job interview…
Supposedly for a creative,self-standing entrepreneurial kind of job…
Which required a no jeans,smart attire…
And apparently reading from a script…
So there for the creative spirit and input…
Needless to say, I didn’t get the job and felt as useless as an ashtray on a motorbike,just standing there, being me…
Being you is not so highly rated at a certain circles…
Then again,I was born this way!
Meanwhile the other candidates showed up in jeans!!Even though the instructions were not to.
So they got the job.
And I got a nice day,horsing pinking around in the city.

I looove music and everything music related.I also happened to be related to music, since I married a professional jazzsician (jazz musician).
So it’s only natural that I eat,breath,kiss and wear music.Case in point-cassette tape skirt and belt.Made by me using recycled materials.

My husband had some studio recording and I joined him for a 3 hour drive to a little city ,wearing appropriate for the occasion cassete tape outfit.Upon out arrival to the studio, this old school cassete player stereo greeted us in the entrance.Boom!Cosmic coincidence or what? On the same day I wear my cassete tape outfit I find this made of carton stereo in a far away recording studio?A perfect compliment to my clothes.

I gave it the easybreazy makeover-cut it short,cut the belt and the straps.
Then added my own bejeweled yellow belt and matching bejeweled straps.
Unfortunately,the day before I got bitten on the beach by a shit fly and my left foot started to swell from an allergic reaction,so I had to wear this walking,sensible sandals, instead of my hip yellow and green heels.Totally un-matching, I know.Damn you,Shit fly.Boo-hoo for me.
